On February 27, 2019, two senators from the 35thGuam Legislature and AOLG alumnae, Senators Regine Biscoe Lee ’99 and Amanda Shelton ’08, presented the Academy of Our Lady of Guam’s basketball team with Certificate Number 5-35 COR. The team, recognized for their performance in Tokyo, Japan, garnered the Championship Title at the January 2019 American School in Japan Kanto Classic Basketball Tournament.  The Cougars competed against teams from Japan, South Korea, Okinawa, Guam, and other countries. Before presenting each student with a copy of the certificate, Senator Biscoe Lee stated, “it’s not just celebrating this victory today, but it is also celebrating all those times that our girls felt defeated [yet] they continued to move forward.” Kudosto the AOLG Basketball team on a job well done!
